Important information about booking, reservation & cancellation

Our regular seasonal times are from 15.03 until 03.11 each year as well as from 24.12 until 06.01 the following year.

!!! Attention !!!

From 01.01.2025, we will open a part of our campsite for you all year round for the first time. During this low season, our restaurant will remain closed, but we will offer you a bread delivery service and an exchange of gas bottles.

A minimum stay of 5 nights applies for a reservation in our holiday apartments. On our campsite, you need to stay for at least 7 nights during our main season. During the low season there is no minimum stay for our campsite.

!!! Attention short-term bookers !!!

10 days before your desired arrival date, the specified minimum stay no longer applies and you can also stay with us for fewer nights.

For example: If you would like to come to us on 30 December of any year for just 1-2 nights, you have the option of conveniently booking this online from 20 December (10 days in advance).

Our premises on the site are largely barrier-free and, if you wish, you can also get an extra key to our large disabled toilet with a spacious shower. For your own key, we ask for a deposit of €10 in cash upon arrival. When you return the key to our reception, you will of course get your money back.

Please note that people with a 100% degree of disability are exempt from the visitor’s tax for the city of Cuxhaven and that we may also exempt the accompanying person from the visitor’s tax if they have a ‘B’ licence plate. Just let us know when you arrive and we will be happy to take this into account for you.

We are not offering any new long-term camping pitches spaces at the moment. If we have any free parking spaces available again, we will let you know here directly.

For example: If you would like to come to us on December 30th of a given year, e.g. for just 1-2 nights, you can book online from December 20th (10 days in advance).

For reservations of 7 nights or more, we kindly ask you to make a partial payment in advance. You can then transfer the remaining amount 2 weeks before arrival. We will send you a reminder email for this. Alternatively, you can also pay on site during your holiday.

For short-term bookings 10 days before your arrival date, we kindly ask you to pay the full amount in advance. This makes the check-in process a little easier for us and gives us more time for you as our guest.

Due to unforeseen events, it sometimes happens that you cannot start a trip as planned. In such cases, you have the following options for cancellation.

Up to 4 weeks before your arrival date, you can cancel your trip free of charge and we will refund your deposit.

Up to 2 weeks before your arrival date, you can rebook for a later date within the season free of charge and also use your deposit for this new booking period.

For cancellations made less than 14 days in advance, 90% of the total booking amount is payable.

We generally recommend that every guest takes out cancellation insurance, as unforeseen circumstances can always arise that may thwart your travel plans at the last minute. If you do not have such insurance, please contact us.

We will then send you a link where you can easily take out such insurance.

All about arrival and departure

Check-in for our holiday apartments and Tiny Houses is possible from 3:00 p.m. and check-out must be by 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure. Each Tiny House and holiday apartment has its own parking space for your car. If you do not bring your own bed linen with you, we will be happy to provide you with a linen package including towels for €25 per person. Our small Tiny House is excluded from this.

Arrival at our campsite is possible from 11:30 a.m. on the day of arrival. Please note that we have a lunch break between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. During this time, you are welcome to drive up to our driveway as far as the reception. When we return from our lunch break, we will take our time to check you in and accompany you to your pitch.

On the day of departure, our reception is open from 8:30 a.m. Check-out is possible from 7:00 a.m. at the earliest and by 11:00 a.m. at the latest. Enjoy the campsite.

As a rule, it is not possible to arrive before 11:30 a.m., as check-out must be completed by 11:00 a.m. and guests are still entitled to their pitch until then. If you leave very early in the morning and arrive before 11:30 a.m., you can park your vehicle in front of our property on the street (please do not drive up to our campsite yet!) and come to the reception on foot. We will then check together whether your pitch is ready for occupancy. If not, you may have to wait a moment and look for a parking space outside our premises.

Our office is open daily until 6:00 p.m. Late arrivals are possible until 9:00 p.m. at the latest. For this purpose, we have installed an intercom system directly in front of our reception. Please follow the instructions for the device and a member of staff will then meet you and assign you to your pitch. The next day, please come to reception after breakfast and we will take care of the rest of your check-in.
If you arrive after 9:00 p.m., please spend the night outside in front of the campsite and you are welcome to report to the reception for check-in the following day.

By prior arrangement, you can also book an additional half day and enjoy our campsite until 4:00 p.m.

If you want to travel by train via Hamburg, there is a direct connection to Cuxhaven. If you are travelling via Bremen, you have a train connection where you have to change once in Bremerhaven and then continue from there to Cuxhaven station. The trains run hourly from morning to evening. However, we ask you to check the exact departure times in advance at Deutsche Bahn https://www.bahn.de/.

Important for your stay

As a guest at our campsite, you are welcome to invite visitors.
We just ask that you register them with our reception team. As we only have limited parking spaces available at our facility, visitors’ cars should be parked on the street or within the rented pitch.

Barbecuing is generally allowed on our campsite, but a supervisor must be present at the barbecue at all times and have a bucket of water ready to extinguish the fire. Open camp fires are prohibited

Pets are allowed on our campsite and must be registered. Out of consideration for all other guests, we have a general leash requirement on our campsite. However, you can also set up a small fence within your pitch where your pet can move around freely.

We are available for you daily from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you have any questions or requests, just come and see us and we will be happy to help.

We have set up a comprehensive WiFi at our campsite. In addition, all premium pitches have a separate LAN connection directly on the pitch.

So far, we have received good feedback regarding the surfing speed, but there may be restrictions if, for example, all guests want to stream at the same time in the high season.

Showering is already included in the overnight price, so there are no additional costs and the hot water will not be turned off after a short time.

We offer you our daily roll delivery service, where you can choose your favourite types of bread from a variety of rolls. For better planning, we would be grateful if you could let the restaurant know what you would like to order when you arrive. Cost overview and …

We have CEE plugs throughout the site, which are fused up to 16 amps.

For stays of 1 to 10 nights, a flat rate per night will be charged for electricity.

For long-term stays of 11 nights or more, electricity will be charged per KWH based on consumption. For this purpose, we have calibrated meters in our power boxes, which we read when you arrive and leave. The difference between the initial and final stock then indicates the number of kilowatt-hours consumed, which is multiplied by the price per kilowatt-hour.

For long-term stays, you can only pay the final electricity bill at the end of your stay. If you wish to leave very early, please contact us the afternoon before your departure date. We can then create your electricity bill in advance and add the average value from the past few days for the last night.

Please note:

In the winter season, electricity will also be charged according to consumption from 24 December to 6 January, and the flat rate will not apply.

At the back of our main building, you will find washing machines and dryers that you can use for €3.50 per wash or dry cycle. You will need 50 cent coins for payment, which we will be happy to change for you at reception.

Guests in the premium and comfort areas can dispose of grey water at the designated supply stations on the pitches and also obtain fresh water there. In addition, we also have a special disposal station for motorhomes. There you can dispose of grey water and fill up with fresh drinking water free of charge.

For black water, please use the designated chemical toilet or our fully automatic cleaning robot from the company Camping Butler. This machine will completely clean your camping cassette for €2. For an additional €1.50, a sanitary liquid will also be added afterwards.

The city of Cuxhaven requires us to collect a visitor’s tax from all guests who spend their holidays with us. Children up to 15 years of age, people with a 100% degree of disability, as well as their designated companions, are exempt from the tax.
With your visitor’s tax, you get access to the sandy beach and a discount at museums, as well as the Thalasso Centre Ahoi! (https://www.nordseeheilbad-cuxhaven.de/thalassozentrum-ahoi) in Duhnen.

Our extras

If you would like to rent bicycles there is a rental company 400 meters from our campsite. You can find more information at https://www.cuxbike.de. Or you use the company https://www.radundtour.de, which will deliver your bicycle directly to your campspot.

We have a few tips and addresses for you for bad weather.
The Ahoibad is located right in the centre of Duhnen and has a large swimming area and a great sauna landscape.

You can also take a trip to one of the museums in the area or enjoy a relaxing game of bowling at the Cuxhaven Bowling Centre. Otherwise, a trip to the Emigration Centre or the Climate House in the Hanseatic City of Bremerhaven is worthwhile.
There is also a small shopping mall and the Columbus Center.

If you prefer something more active, you can also let off steam in the Otterndorf play barn. Otherwise, a visit to the Bali Cinema in Cuxhaven is always a good idea.
